About Walden Media Group

Walden Media Group (WMG®) is a growth marketing agency headquartered in Austin, Texas. We specialize in growth retainers that combine brand, advertising, technology, and go to market services for businesses around the world.

WMG® operates two business lines. Our enterprise practice partners with established brands on integrated growth programs. Our franchise program is a low cost SaaS offering that gives individual franchisees lead management, reporting, and local advertising for their small business, across franchise brands in categories from health and wellness to beauty to fitness.

About the Role

Walden Media Group (WMG®) is looking for an experienced Director of Paid Media to lead strategy, execution, and team performance across our paid media practice. This is a senior, hands on leadership role for someone who has built and scaled campaigns end to end, knows how to delegate and hold a team accountable, and can confidently lead the room with clients and stakeholders.

Attribution and tracking sit at the center of this role. You will make sure every dollar we spend can be measured, explained, and defended.

Responsibilities
  • Develop full funnel paid media strategies across self serve platforms, programmatic DSP and SSP environments, and direct vendor partnerships for a client portfolio spanning multiple verticals.
  • Own the full campaign lifecycle, including strategy, setup, trafficking, QA, optimization, and reporting across Meta, Google, LinkedIn, and programmatic channels.
  • Own the measurement foundation for every account. Make sure pixels, conversion APIs, UTMs, offline conversions, and CRM integrations are implemented correctly and audited regularly. Apply attribution modeling and incrementality testing so performance is accurately credited and budgets move toward what truly drives results.
  • Assign and route work across the team based on priority, capacity, and skill set. Keep projects moving on schedule, remove blockers, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of paid media managers, specialists, and coordinators. Set clear goals and KPIs, run regular check ins and performance reviews, and hold team members accountable to deadlines, quality standards, and results.
  • Lead internal team meetings, client strategy sessions, and performance reviews with clear agendas, decisions, and next steps.
  • Present strategy, results, and recommendations persuasively to clients and executive stakeholders. Translate data into a clear story, build confidence in our approach, and win buy in for budget and strategy decisions.
  • Lead programmatic buying through DSPs and SSPs, manage platform partner relationships with Meta, Google, and LinkedIn, and take advantage of beta programs and preferred access.
  • Review live dashboards with clients and turn performance data into actionable insight.
  • Oversee budget allocation, pacing, and performance across all active accounts and verticals.
  • Define team SOPs, QA checklists, and escalation protocols to ensure campaign excellence at scale.
Required Qualifications
  • 5 to 8 years of paid media experience with clear progression into a management or director level role.
  • Hands on expertise with Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, and LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
  • Direct experience with programmatic buying through DSPs and SSPs (such as DV360, The Trade Desk, or Xandr).
  • Deep knowledge of attribution and tracking, including GA4, Google Tag Manager, conversion APIs, offline conversion tracking, and multi touch attribution models.
  • Strong command of performance metrics and incrementality testing.
  • Proven ability to delegate effectively, manage workflow across a team, and hold people accountable to results.
  • Track record of managing and developing a team of media professionals.
  • Confidence leading meetings with clients, executives, and internal teams.
  • Persuasive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to defend a recommendation and influence decisions.
  • Experience running campaigns across multiple business verticals (such as B2B, ecommerce, healthcare, and financial services).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Agency background managing multiple client accounts at once.
  • Experience with CTV and OTT, retail media, or audio advertising.
  • Familiarity with first party data strategy, CDPs, or data clean rooms.
  • Google Ads, Meta Blueprint, or IAB Digital Media certifications.
